Planning an overseas trip to WDW for next year (May or Sept) and are looking at combining WDW with Disney's Vero Beach resort. How early can we/should we book to be able to secure our stay at the resort? Where to stay at WDW w/5 yo and toddler? THX!

    Hallo Elen!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I will be switching places with you next year as we are planning a Northern European journey with a stop in Norway! I can’t wait, and I am so excited that you’ve decided to visit my “home”!

Right now is the perfect time to start planning your 2020 vacation. All of the Walt Disney World Resort properties can be booked 499 days in advance. I just went online to see how far out I could book, and the latest reservation I could make online started on December 31, 2020. So this should cover your planned dates of either May or September 2020. You can either book online or call (407) 939-4229.

Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is an excellent idea for a combined vacation. I love the laid-back vibe of the eastern seashore, and it’s only about a two-hour drive from Walt Disney World Resort. My entire family loves the Resort, the Tiger Lily Wet Play Area and Mickey Mouse-shaped swimming pool combined with the DOLE Whip at Wind & Waves Market make for the perfect beach vacation!

As a parent of littles, I always go for convenience, and the Magic Kingdom Resort properties are the most convenient of all! For a laid-back, rustic vibe, look no further than Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. It’s a very relaxing 10-minute boat ride to Magic Kingdom Park, and you don’t have to break down your stroller for the trip - total bonus!

If you want to stay on the monorail (which is super convenient and super fun!), Disney’s Contemporary Resort is our favorite. The monorail runs straight through the hotel (which your five-year-old will love!), it’s a five-minute walk to Magic Kingdom Park, and Chef Mickey’s is one of the best Character dining experiences in all of the ‘World!

Elen, if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to come back. I wish you pixie-dusted planning!
