HI Amanda!
Welcome to the Moms Panel! I hope you can help you plan your day so that you can get the most out of it!
Since the pool slide is a must for your family, you'll want to be sure to stay at a resort in the moderate or deluxe category. The value resort pools, while fun, do not have pool slides.
Another consideration will be location. Given that you plan to spend the day at the Magic Kingdom, and since you have little ones, I'd suggest staying as close to the Magic Kingdom as possible. This will make it easy to travel back to your resort for a break in the afternoon for pool time and naps.
There are four Deluxe resorts with easy access to the Magic Kingdom: Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Polynesian, and Wilderness Lodge. One moderate resort is also close by: Fort Wilderness (cabins and campground).
Of these resorts, the Grand Floridian, Contemporary, and Polynesian all have direct monorail access to the Magic Kingdom. Both the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness are served by boat ferries.
Our family favorite is the Wilderness Lodge. We love the atmosphere there and all of the kids activities available here. There are many free and low cost activities offered at the resort, such as: cookie decorating, rubber duck races and movies on the beach. The Whispering Canyon Cafe is also a fun, high-energy place for a great family meal. Another great plus is that the Wilderness Lodge is usually the least expensive of all of the Deluxe resorts in this area. Be sure to check out the
Special Offers page to see if there are any discounts which will make your vacation a little more affordable!
I hope this helps! Enjoy your day at the Magic Kingdom!
