We are planning one day at Disney World in a couple weeks. We also planned to get Lightning Lane MP. Can we only use Lightning Lane for the 2nd and 3rd park (MK and EPCOT) and just rope drop at the first park without using it (Flight of Passage at AK)?

    Hey there, Michelle!

I'm so thrilled to see you back here at planDisney! It sounds like you have a really exciting trip on the horizon, especially since you'll be visiting right before the new year...a time when the parks are buzzing with extra energy and anticipation. I can only imagine how much you're looking forward to diving into the magic and creating everlasting memories. With so much to see, do, and enjoy, it's going to be such a memorable visit!

Purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass is a fantastic choice, especially since you'll be hopping between multiple parks in one day! It's a great strategy for tackling a lot of attractions without spending too much time in standby lines. It really sounds like you've put together a solid plan.

Rope dropping Avatar Flight of Passage (my personal favorite!) at Animal Kingdom is an excellent way to kick off your morning and knock out one of the most popular attractions right away. After that, you can head over to either Magic Kingdom or EPCOT.

When you buy your Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you'll simply choose the park where you plan to start after Animal Kingdom, so either Magic Kingdom or EPCOT. You will then be prompted to choose three pre-selections for that theme park. Then, once you've scanned into your first attraction for the day, you'll be able to make additional Lightning Lane selections, based on availability, at any of the theme parks. It's a smart, flexible approach to experiencing as much as possible.

As a reminder, if you're staying at a Disney Resort, you'll also be able to take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry, allowing you to enter Animal Kingdom 30 minutes before the park officially opens. You'll also have the perk of purchasing your Lightning Lane passes up to 7 days before your check-in date, starting at 7:00 AM Eastern Time, right on your My Disney Experience app. If you're not staying on property, you can purchase 3 days prior to your park visit.

Michelle, I hope this helps, and you have the most magical vacation at the most magical place! Should you have any other questions as you finalize your plans, you're always welcome as can be here at planDisney!

    Magic Awaits,
