planning a not park day in feb.13. typhoon lagoon wp. golf at winter summerland.....a walk on the board walk, supper at cape may cafe, and try and get to electrical water pageant. times and how to get around.staying at PORS.

    Rob,

That is quite the plan! But my family loves a non-theme park day as well during our trips. Just as much fun, and gets you going at a different speed.

So your first step is to get from Port Orleans Riverside to Typhoon Lagoon. Though February times are not yet posted, you can assume a water park opening of 10 am. You will be able to catch a direct bus there from your resort (often a bus will be for there and either Epcot or Hollywood Studios, and will have signs to that effect), and should not take more than 10-15 minutes.

Obviously it would be easier to get to Winter Summerland if you were going to Blizzard Beach, but for now we know it will be closed for refurbishments through the end of January, so might not be an option. Either way I would suggest you grab a bus to Downtown Disney, and then a bus to the golf area. Plan at least 45 minutes, maybe an hour if you have to wait the maximum time for your buses.

Now you are off to the BoardWalk. Bus straight there from Winter Summerland by going to the BoardWalk Inn. The bus should take about 20 minutes.

To head from your walk on the BoardWalk to dinner, just walk around the lagoon to the Beach Club. It should take about 10 minutes.

Finally, to go get to the Electrical Water Pageant you just want to take the bus to the Magic Kingdom (20 minutes), and then monorail to whatever resort (10-15 minutes) from which you want to watch the show. It starts at the Polynesian at 9 pm, and goes from there to the Grand Floridian, the Wilderness Lodge, Fort Wilderness, and then the Contemporary. It hits this last stop around 10, usually.

Remember for all this travel to plan up to 20 minutes wait time for any bus. You rarely have to wait that full time, but better to prepare and arrive early that not prepare and miss your day!

Write me back if you have any follow-up questions!

    Have a magical vacation!
