Hi there! We are planning a 7 night stay at WDW and we are thinking of splitting our hotel stay at The Polynesian and Animal Kingdom Lodge. Has anyone done this? How was it and would you recommend it? Thanks!

Just about everyone on this Panel has switched hotels during a Disney vacation. Sometimes this is done because a preferred resort does not have availability during an entire stay. Other times people switch resorts because they want to experience the unique amenities and themeing of more than one of Disney's great resorts.

Both the Polynesian and the Animal Kingdom Lodge are among Disney's fabulous deluxe resorts. They are each great in their own right; the Poly has that super-convenient monorail access to the Magic Kingdom, the AKL has beautiful African art and real on-site animals. I think this is a great combination of different experiences that will really showcase the best that Disney has to offer.

When you're ready to check out of your first hotel, just let the bell services desk know. They can arrange to have your bags transferred to your second hotel for you, thus making the switch as easy as possible.
