Hello there Tracey,
Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you stopped by with your question. I just love adding a
Walt Disney World Resort stay to our
Disney Cruise Line vacations. It's a fantastic way to experience tons of magic, excitement and some much-needed relaxation on a single trip. My family recently enjoyed 3 nights at
Disney's Riviera Resort before we embarked on
Disney Wish. I'll admit, it was extra hard heading home after the beautiful accommodations and outstanding service we enjoyed at both destinations.
Although
Bell Services is more than happy to store your luggage on arrival and departure days, they unfortunately wouldn't be able to hold your bags during your sailing. It never hurts to ask in person just to double-check, but you should be prepared to maintain possession of your luggage while you are sailing toward the line where the sky meets the sea. I know that's probably not the answer you were hoping for, but let's see if we can find some workarounds.
When my family last sailed we drove our own car and parked at
Port Canaveral during the cruise. We made sure to keep all our Disney Parks gear in one suitcase so we could leave it stored securely in our locked vehicle instead of bringing it onboard. I'm not sure how you will be arriving to the Port on embarkation day, but you can follow a similar plan and keep any Walt Disney World Resort clothing and accessories stored in separate luggage. Disney Cruise Line has some of the most spacious staterooms available with plenty of under-bed storage where you can tuck a suitcase (or two) out of sight and out of mind during your voyage.
If the idea of juggling multiple suitcases during your vacation doesn't sound appealing you can also take advantage of the
self-service laundry facilities available at your Disney Resort Collection Hotel as well as on your
ship. Your Stateroom Host or Hostess can also assist with
full-service laundry and dry cleaning pickup while onboard. My husband has used their quick press services on a number of occasions because let's be honest, no one wants to iron on vacation. This would help cut down on the number of items you need to pack and free up room for more souvenirs- a win-win in my book!
Tracey, I hope this helps as you make plans for your upcoming vacation. If we can be of further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out again.
Magic and memories,
Amy
