We are planning a 4 night cruise to the Bahamas at the end of this January. I have 2 questions, what is the average temperature then and we will be visiting Nassau, is there a free beach within walking distance to the ship? Thank you!

    Ahoy Regina!
I'm excited to hear your crew is looking forward to a Bahamian adventure in January!  When you visit the Bahamas you can expect temperatures in the high 70s to low 80s with lows in the mid to upper 60s.  As you think about what to pack, I'd plan on bringing summer clothing with some light layers for the mornings and evenings.
When you arrive in Nassau, the town is within walking distance of the pier which has shopping including the Straw Market, dining, and a few historic points of interest. As for beaches, there is a one about 15 minutes from the port called Junkaroo Beach.  It is about 10 minutes past the Straw Market on the right.  Other beaches in the area require a taxi or van to get to them and many of them do charge a fee.
Also, don't forget there will be lots of happenings on the ship even if it is in port.  If you choose to stay onboard on your Nassau day, be sure to check your Personal Navigator for lots of activities and events throughout the day.
Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel, Regina!  Please write back if I can answer any additional questions for your crew!
    Have a magical day!
