Planning for the 2020 Marathon and was wondering, if we stay at the Boardwalk, Beach or Yacht Club, can we walk through EPCOT to the starting line? Or would we be better at the POLY or Contemp and ride the monorail? thank you!

    Hi Jerry!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Congratulations on the decision to take on the challenge of the Walt Disney World Marathon! I ran the Dopey Challenge in 2018 and I'm biting at the bit to participate in this weekend again!

There are positives to both Resort area locations when planning a runcation during Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. While Epcot is not open for you to cut through, it does make your return back to your Resort hotel much easier post race. For the ease of getting to the start line I think you'll find Disney's Polynesian Village Resort or Disney's Contemporary Resort to be a little more convenient. Historically, the Resort Monorail has ran for the half marathon and full marathon distance, but if you'll be participating in the 5K or 10K it will be a bus.

There are truly so many wondEARful benefits regardless of which Walt Disney World Resort hotel you choose! Please come back if you have any other planning questions before your visit early next year.
