Hello, Doreen! Walt Disney World Resort describes their Dine with an Imagineer experience as a way to "satisfy your appetite and your curiosity!" To me, this sounds like the perfect pixie-dusted day for any Disney fan. I have yet to cross this off my bucket list, but my sister-in-law has done it twice, and I'd be happy to relay her experiences.
Dine with an Imagineer at The Hollywood Brown Derby is only offered three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with very limited seating (she said there are typically 10-12 Guests at lunch). Consequently, this can be a tough reservation to get, and it is recommended that you book 180 days before your trip (if it's not available, try
Citricos Dining with an Imagineer, which is offered on the first Thursday of each month at 5:30 PM).
The price includes a four-course meal in the restaurant's private Bamboo Room. Although the menu changes seasonally, you can be certain that the signature (and delicious) Famous Cobb Salad and Grapefruit Cake will be among the offerings. However, the most exciting part of this meal is talking to the Imagineer! You never know who you'll meet, but the Imagineers all have their areas of expertise and have worked on projects ranging from the Cinderella Castle Suite, Toy Story Land, and even
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge! No matter what, you'll hear some mind-blowing information on the creative process at Imagineering during your meal. Although Disney Dining says it's about 90 minutes from start to finish, my sister-in-law said to allow upwards of two and a half hours.
I hope you have a delectable time during your lunch, Doreen! Please feel free to visit us again if you have any more questions.
