Ahoy, Teri!
It's wonderful to hEAR from you! You'll be casting off for your week long adventure on the high seas very soon so it's smart to start planning what to bring now. It will make the days leading up to your sailing a lot less stressful. I like to reference the
Disney Cruise Line Packing List as I prepare so make sure to keep this handy in the coming weeks.
You will see a variety of attire on formal night on your 7-night cruise. I completely understand packing light so maybe bring your son and husband both a pair of khakis and button-down shirt with a tie or just a nice collared shirt that won't take up as much room. Both my son and husband have done this before, and I thought they looked very handsome for the evening activities. There is an iron to use in each of the laundry rooms if anything gets wrinkled! And just so you know, you'll find the storage quite ample with several shelves in the closets, plenty of hangers and some drawer space for your family's clothing.
Teri, you are going to fall in love with Disney's private island when your step foot in this tropical paradise. The swimming lagoon is perfect for cooling off from the Bahamian sun and the sand is ideal for your creations by the shore. There are Disney Cruise Line themed sand toys available for purchase in two gift shops on the island-She sells
Sea shells...and Everything Else (located just past the first tram stop-Scuttle's Cove) and Buy the Seashore (near the second tram stop-Pelican Point). These adorable sand toys actually make great souvenirs that you can use for yEARs to come. You won't find any lying on the beach, but if your sailor checks in to Scuttle's Cove, the youth club on the island, there are toys available there. There's lots of splashtacular fun throughout the day on this sandy playground for 3-12 year olds!
Happy planning!
Nancy
