We're planning a lg reunion (> 150 people) for Jul '13 & I'm trying to call 1 resort "home base" altho' ppl can stay where they want. If we stay at Ft Wilderness Cabins, is there a lg common area to hang out? How's Mickey's BBQ in July?

    Hi Laura!!
Wow!! You are definitely going to enjoy your reunion while at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground!  Although there is no traditional common area as in the other Disney resorts, you are welcome to visit Pioneer Hall.  All the dining experiences are located here as well as the arcades and some horse/pony rides.  It is air conditioned so you will be able to enjoy the August weather coolly.
Mickeys Backyard BBQ, while fun and entertaining, may be a bit much in the August heat.  Although there are fans and attempts at cooling, the crowds and the dancing make you work up a sweat!  My recommendation would be to try the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue!  Air conditioned with similar fare, makes for a much more enjoyable experience!
Hope this helps you plan your magical vacation!

Hi there! The Disney Parks have been a part of my life since I was a little girl. Introducing my children, husband, and family to all the magic that Walt Disney World can offer has led to countless moments with Mickey and Friends, Disney Vacation Club membership and fun on the high seas with Disney Cruise Lines! Our vacations are usually centered around a visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth, and I am super excited to help you plan and create magical moments for you and your families!
