We are planning a last minute weekend trip to Disney for April 29-May 2. We are staying offsite. Will we be able to eat lunch/dinner at the restaurants when we arrive or are reservations necessary? We plan to visit the Magin Kingdom.

    Hi Heather!

Yeay! I love those type of trips! They are like a surprise that is a huge bonus - a trip when you didn't expect it!

I do recommend making reservations for your table service meals if you'll have an idea of which park you'll be visiting on which day. The in-park restaurants do tend to fill up quickly, therefore advanced planning will really pay off.

If you're still undecided, or just don't want to plan your meal times, be sure to visit Guest Services inside the park to ask about dining options. They can let you know which (if) restaurants have availability. Its also a good idea to be flexible about dining times if you're looking for last minute seating. If you're willing to dine at a non-peak time (late lunch or dinner), you'll be more likely to find availability. You may also find more options if you're willing to dine at a resort. At the Magic Kingdom, you'll have easy access to all of the Monorail resorts - which makes this a great option to have a relaxing meal in a (usually) quieter setting!

Also, even if you find that reservations are full for your chosen restaurant, it never hurts to stop by the dining establishment that day and ask if they've had any cancellations - you never know what you might find!

Hope this helps! Have a great time!
