Hi! We are planning a last minute trip to Disney for fall break as a surprise for the kiddos. Unfortunately the tickets I had in my cart for Mickeys Halloween party sold out before I could complete my purchase. Is there a way to get tickets for Oct 9th?

BOO! And Welcome to planDisney, Melissa! I'm hauntingly happy to help you make some plans for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit, so let's jump in a Doom Buggy and get started.

I checked availability for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and you're correct that October 9 is sold out. Unfortunately, there isn't a waiting list for sold-out parties. Feel free to keep checking the website in case more tickets are released, but that isn't very likely from my experience. I'm sorry for this gloomy news, but I have some suggestions.

When I checked, tickets were still available for October 5 and 13, so if your dates are flexible, you could snag tickets for one of those parties. I can't think of a better time to walk among ghosts and goblins than on Friday the 13th! But if you decide to try for one of those dates, I'd suggest you do that as soon as possible. As you know, this is a popular party and will sell out quickly.

Melissa, even if you can't get tickets to this event, your family can still enjoy the delightfully devilish decor at the Theme Parks. My tip is to make your Theme Park Reservations for Magic Kingdom Park on a date when there isn't a party scheduled. That way, you can have a nightmarish night of your own and won't have to leave the park early. Your kiddos can experience Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean, and you can snap fiendish photos all over the park with Halloween decorations as your backdrop.

My family enjoys a good Disneybound, which is dressing in the colors and theme of a character. It's not a full costume, but a group Disneybound makes for fabulous family memories. My favorite was when I wore a blue striped tee, a red cap, and sandals for a day as Mr. Smee! Review the Guest Courtesy and Attire guidelines, and I know your kids will have a blast exploring options.

I'm sending pixie dust and candy corn so your upcoming visit will be a howling success, Melissa. Party or not, your family will have a ghoulishly good time as long as they're together. Please feel free to stop by planDisney anytime.

    Hurry baaaaaack,
    Elaine
