Planning our kids 1st trip Sept. '10. Have chosen WL. Upon leaving MK at closing, is there usually a long wait for the boats back to WL? Also, what is the best way to go/leave Epcot? Kids 18 mos. & 4...stroller, baby bag, etc. in tow. THANKS!

    HI Maura!

What a wonderful resort choice! I'll be there at just about the same time as you! I can't wait for the the fall - and its not even spring yet !!

We've stayed at the Wilderness Lodge quite a few times over the years, and have never had a very long wait for the boat transportation. We've found that this is usually much quicker than waiting for buses for other resorts at the end of the night. The wait is usually 20 min or less, and while I've been on some pretty full boats over the years, it has been unusual for us to have to wait for a second boat to arrive. If you have a smaller stroller, many times this will not need to be folded to fit on the boat.

Now, for Epcot there are two main choices: Buses or a Boat-Monorail combination. The bus route is usually the quickest, but since our family love to ride on the monorail we usually choose to take a boat to the Magic Kingdom or Contemporary resort and then hop on the monorail. If you choose to take the monorail, be aware that you'll need to change monorails at the Ticket and Transportation center, as the track for Epcot is on a separate loop than the Magic Kingdom. So, in reality you'll be taking a boat, then a monorail, and then a different monorail. But don't worry, if you choose this route, its actually pretty easy, and fun to tour a bit of the resorts.

I hope this helps with your planning. Have a great trip and enjoy the Lodge!
