Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Johnda!
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is always on my family's "must do" list when we visit Magic Kingdom in the fall. In fact, we were at the Walt Disney World Resort this past September for the very first party of the 2016 season. We donned Halloween-themed shirts and hit the ground running for a BOOtiful night of SPOOK-tacular fun! Pumpkins, scarecrows, leafy garland, Mickey pumpkin wreaths, fall colored flowers greeted us so rest assured you'll be surrounded by the festive decor at your party this year! Magic Kingdom is where you'll find the most Halloween decorations at the Walt Disney World Resort. Some others will be sprinkled about, but the Resort hotels don't decorate like they do for Christmas.
I was also concerned about rain or a storm during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on my family's visit last September. We dealt with rain a few years ago at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party so we watched the weather forecast closely and had ponchos on standby. Luckily, we didn't need them this time, but we were ready to deal with whatever was thrown at us to enjoy a magical night at the party. There have been parties canceled in the past, but it's been a pretty significant weather issue to cause this outcome. Your options are to go ahead and purchase your tickets once they become available or wait until closer to your date (two to three days prior) to buy tickets. The risk to waiting is that the party may sell out. September 1 is the first Friday night party and Labor Day weekend so that's something to consider. If you don't mind wearing your poncho or rain jacket, I'd say go for it! If it ends up being a rainy night, it may mean smaller crowds and possibly cooler weather!
Good luck with your plans for your visit, Johnda! We are so happy you stopped by again!
