Planning a half day in Epcot. Traveling with a 2yr old and 10mo old. I'm trying to plan some attractions they can ride on. Is Ellen's Energy Adventure something they can ride? Will it be something they might enjoy? Scary? Thanks!

    Hi Devone,

Our family loves Ellen's Energy Adventure. The approximately 45 minute attraction features a variety of segments including movies and a ride through portion into the land of Dinosaurs.

The car that you and your family will be seated in features long rows of benches and moves very slowly through the ride portion. Your children can sit next to you on the bench or smaller children will be able to sit on your lap quite comfortably. The attraction is centered around Ellen's dream that she has stumbled onto the game show Jeopardy and all of the questions are about energy, the problem is she knows nothing about this topic. Bill Nye the science guy shows up to help with a quick energy lesson and the fun begins.

Most of the action is in the dark to allow for the movie portions and the ride through takes guest past large animatronic dinosaurs. There are portions of the attraction that can be quite loud, with dinosaur roars and sound effects but generally speaking the attraction is family friendly for guests of all ages.

When my boys were smaller, I simply covered their ears for the louder portions and they were quite happy. Every child responds differently but if your child does not mind dark spaces and occasional loud noises, you should be good to go. It is a quite entertaining, and educational, attraction and we visit it every trip.
