    I am planning to go to WDW during the last week of august. I've read that the crowds aren't too big. Is that true, and how is the weather? Also, do you have any advice on how I could make it affordable for 2 adults and 2 teenagers?

    Hi, Elianne!  We have always found the last week of August to be a bit less crowded than other times of the year.  Many Southern state schools and colleges are already back in session, and with families not wanting to keep their kids out of school at the beginning, it's not a convenient time for some people to travel.  It has been a little bit busier in recent years with the free dining plan offer, but still very manageable.

    The weather in August can be summed up in three small words - H. O. T.  You will find temperatures climbing into the 90s with pretty high humidity.  The afternoon usually brings a bit of a rain shower, but the showers are generally quick moving.  Don't expect a cool down, though, as a result of the showers.  You will find instead a warm steam rising from the ground, like in a sauna.

    And speaking of free dining, it is being offered again this year for stays between August 16 and October 3.  To take advantage, you have to book before June 21, but book as soon as possible, as the rooms fill up with people taking advantage of this offer.  If you buy a hotel and theme park ticket package, you will get one free counter service, one free table service, and one snack for each member of your party for every night you stay!  That is a GREAT way to make a vacation to Walt Disney World affordable - especially with two teenagers!
