We are planning to go to Magic Kingdom on September 6, 2019. We have park tickets to go during the day and purchased MNSSH for the event. My question is: does Magic Kingdom shut down before the event starts? How do they differentiate the guest?

Hi there, Stephanie! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks so much for taking the time to reach out and allowing us to help you plan your vacation to Walt Disney World Resort!

The happy haunts have received your sympathetic vibrations and are beginning to materialize! You and your family are in for a frightfully good time this Autumn at Walt Disney World Resort! Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a special event that transforms the Magic Kingdom into the most magical fall festival on Earth. Guests will have the opportunity to meet with rare Disney Characters, enjoy event-exclusive entertainment offerings, and even trick-or-treat around the park! Any fan of all things creepy will certainly not want to miss this event!

The Magic Kingdom does not actually close down prior to the beginning of these special events! Instead, Guests attending Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will receive a special wristband upon entering that will allow them to access the event. Cast Members will be on the lookout for these wristbands throughout the night to verify that Guests have acquired admission to the party. So, if you and your family will be visiting the Magic Kingdom prior to the beginning of the party, you will want to make sure you stop by one of the locations that will be giving out the special event wristbands!

I hope you and your family have a spook-tacular time visiting Walt Disney World Resort!
