Welcome back to planDisney, Sophie! Seeing you here and learning more about your upcoming October trip is always great.
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is truly an amazing and beautiful place to explore, with its unique design, construction, and special connection to Walt Disney. I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time there.
Sophie, while there's lots to do and see around the
rustic beauty of Tri-Circle-D Ranch, such as trail rides, pony rides, wagon rides, and carriage rides, I need to let you know that due to construction at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, horseback riding will be temporarily unavailable from July 13, 2024, through November 2024, which overlaps with your trip dates. This is done to ensure the health and safety of all Guests and the horses. However, you can still visit the stables and see the different breeds that live at Tri-Circle-D Ranch, including Appaloosas, Arabians, Belgians, Clydesdales, Percherons, Quarter Horses, and Shetland Ponies.
The stables are located near the Settlement area of Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. They are open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily. Pony rides will still be available from the same location, and there are other activities outside the ranch but nearby inside the Resort, such as archery, kayak rentals, and more.
To find the best way to get there, I highly recommend
downloading the My Disney Experience app, as the transportation options depend on your departure location. Once inside the app, tap "Get Directions," it will calculate the most direct route for you, which may involve a combination of bus, monorail, boat, or walking.
I hope this information helps, Sophie. Please feel free to come back anytime and
let us know if you have any additional questions. We are always happy and ready to help our amazing friends from across the pond like you.
Cheers,
Nilson
