Hey there, Bianca! Welcome to planDisney. We are so excited to have you stop by with your question for us!
On behalf of all of us here at planDisney, I would like to take the time to thank your father for his service. There are currently two types of tickets that eligible military members can purchase at participating military base ticket offices. The first is a standard theme park ticket offered at a discounted price. These do not have stipulations on who can use the ticket. The other option is the
Disney Military Promotional Ticket. These tickets are eligible for active and retired U.S. military personnel. There is a limit on how many each military member can purchase. The other stipulation to these tickets is that the military member or spouse much purchase the tickets and also be using one of these tickets. If the military member or spouse is a
Magic Key holder then they do not have to be using a ticket with the rest of the group, but they still will need to show their military ID to activate the tickets at the time they are scanned to use for the first time. Since your father isn't planning to be there with you, you would not qualify to use a Disney Military Promotional Ticket, even if you have your military ID with you.
Be sure to check out the
Disney Eats Foodie Guide if you are planning to head over to California Adventure. The
Food and Wine Festival has started with so much to see, drink, and eat!
Bianca, you still can get great deals on tickets through the base ticket office, and I hope you can take advantage of that for a day of magic with your friend! See you real soon!
