Ahoy there, Lynn, welcome back to planDisney!
How exciting you’re preparing for a
Disney Cruise Line sailing in November! I’m new to cruise life, but my first experience on the
Disney Dream was magical with my planDisney family! I love that you’re able to bring your family and I’m here to share more information on the
required documentation for travel, which is based on your sailing’s itinerary.
You’re correct, since your son is 16, he will need both his birth certificate and a valid government-issued photo ID. Unfortunately, a school ID is not valid as it doesn’t indicate his date of birth. You do have a few months before your trip, so I recommend applying to get him a state ID if he doesn’t have a driver’s license yet or passport. Ensuring you have all the proper documentation will make travel seamless and less stressful!
Make sure you download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app so you can check in and reserve
onboard activities and port excursions. My planDisney pal,
JoVonn G., travels often with her teen and he enjoys hanging out at the
teen-exclusive club, Vibe. There’s so much for the whole family to enjoy and experience on a Disney Cruise, I can’t wait to one day take my family!
I’m wishing you the most magical sea vacation, Lynn! If you have any other questions before you set sail,
please visit us again!
Bon Voyage!
