We are planning to go back for our 10 year anniversary in Aug 2011. My ? is how soon is too soon to plan and booking a trip. I want to make sure that we have everything booked and ready to go as I have a busy household and I don't want to miss anything.

    Hi Shannon!

I think I might be a bit biased on this answer!! I'm a plan-a-holic AND Disney is my favorite place! Not sure I can think of any reasons NOT to book for 2011!

Here are my thoughts on this: Planning in advance helps to make sure that you have the best shot at getting the hotels, restaurants and events you'd like to experience. For guests willing to plan ahead, you have a great advantage in timing. By booking in advance, you'll be able to begin making your Advance Dining Reservations and event reservations 180 days in advance. Hopefully, this will help you scoop up the coveted dining spots and times!

Usually, when you are an early planner, you'll be able to have your choice of resorts and room categories. And, if for some reason you can't get your first choice- you have plenty of time to call back and keep checking.

In fact, the only disadvantage I can think of to booking early doesn't even apply for your trip! Usually special offers are announced only a few months in advance, so you don't know if you'll be able to save some money on your trip. BUT, just this week, Disney announced some great deals for 2011! You can check these out now AND take advantage of them early (in case they sell-out!!).

So, go for it! I don't see any downside to booking early and it will feel great to have one less thing to do later!
