Hi! Planning our first WWD trip (dh, dds 8-10,ds 5 and my mother). Wondering what you would do on first evening (without park tickets). Staying at BCV for 4 nights then Poly. Would you explore the Boardwalk or go to Downtown D.? Thanks for your help!

    Renee,

For two reasons I would say that you should use your arrival night to explore the BoardWalk. First, you are staying right there at the Beach Club. So why travel all over Walt Disney World right after you arrive if you don’t have to?

Second, you should ease into your vacation. Relax. Explore your resort. Maybe take in some pool time. Plan a fun dinner for the family, followed by some nighttime exploration of the BoardWalk. Maybe even share a Kitchen Sink sundae at the Beaches and Cream soda fountain at the Beach Club to really kick your vacation off in style.

To me, a relaxing start to a vacation is what sets the mood for the whole trip. Don’t force a hectic start to your vacation if you can avoid it. Downtown Disney can wait for another night.

I hope that this helps! Write me if you need any more suggestions

    Have a magical vacation!
