Hi, we are planning our first WDW for Sept or Oct 2014, our son will be 6. We are having a difficult time deciding on a resort. Cost is one factor but so is travel time. How long does it take to get MK from POR? Coronado Springs? Carribean resort?

    Hey Cindy!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Mom Panel! Thank you for bringing us your question.

I don't think you could go wrong with any of the resorts you have mentioned. They all have great theming and wonderful amenities.

To narrow down the travel time between these resorts and the Magic Kingdom I suggest consulting  ourlaughingplace.com. In the upper right corner is a tab called "Transportation Wizard". The Transportation Wizard will give you approximate travel times between all Walt Disney World destinations. However, you will need to factor in the time it will take to get to the bus stop from your resort room, the wait time for the next bus to arrive and the time it will take you to walk to your destination.

When traversing the vast Walt Disney World property I always allow for at least an hour to an hour and a half to get from my hotel to my destination. This will allow for any unforeseen delays.

I hope this helps your planning. If you have any other questions please come back and see me.

Wishing you a magical Walt Disney World vacation and a pixie-dusted day.
