Planning our first visit to WDW in summer 2013 and we are already super excited! We are travelling from Scotland and wondered if it is better (and cheaper) to book our whole trip, hotel, tickets, dining and flights through Disney or a travel agent? Thanks

Hi Jennifer! There are several schools of thought as to whether or not booking at a travel agent or Online travel agent versus Disney is your best bet. Although there are instances where you may save a few dollars with a travel agency, there are numerous benefits to booking with Disney. Primarily, when booking with a third-party vendor, as Expedia or Travelocity are, you will not be able to access your reservation on the WDW site, nor can you call Disney to make preferences to your resort stay.  Those all need to go through your OTA (online travel agency). Secondly, Disney offers flexibility.  When booking an OTA, you are required to pay the balance in full at the time of booking.  When booking through Disney, a vacation package needs to be paid 45 days prior to arrival.  A room only stay is paid in full the day of arrival.  Should you need to make changes to your resort stay (days, adding on tickets..etc), you are able to do so without penalty or charge as long as it is done prior to the 45 day mark.  So, although you are offered the same benefits and packages as on the Disney website, should you need some flexibility with your dates and schedule, booking on the Disney website may be your best bet. Hope this helps you plan your magical vacation! -Malanie

Hi there! The Disney Parks have been a part of my life since I was a little girl. Introducing my children, husband, and family to all the magic that Walt Disney World can offer has led to countless moments with Mickey and Friends, Disney Vacation Club membership and fun on the high seas with Disney Cruise Lines! Our vacations are usually centered around a visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth, and I am super excited to help you plan and create magical moments for you and your families!
