Keri,
Thanks for your great question!
Ease of transportation is a huge consideration when traveling with two little ones! When we traveled with our two little girls at about the same age it was great to minimize travel time, as that is when they were usually at their most tired. Here are my recommendations;
Value: Without question, I would suggest you consider
Disney's Pop Century Resort. It has been recently renovated, and not only do I love the overall feel of the resort, but the rooms are very space efficient. The second bed that converts from a table to a bed in the same way that a Murphy bed would operate is handy at giving you more space for everyone to do their own thing before bedtime. More to your question, the addition of the
Disney Skyliner means you are just a short and scenic ride away from
EPCOT and
Disney's Hollywood Studios (about 25 minutes and 15 minutes, respectively). For the
Magic Kingdom and
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park you are just a bus ride away, and that would be the same case at any other value resort, so I think it makes the decision an easy one.
Moderate: Again, the recent addition of the Disney Skyliner makes this an easier choice than ever before. At
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort the Skyliner gets you to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios in 15 and 6 minutes, respectively. The only unique transportation benefit of other Moderates that you don't have here is the boat service from the two Port Orleans resorts to
Disney Springs. Otherwise it is bus service everywhere. Technically the
Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort are a moderate, and they have a boat service to the Magic Kingdom. But because of the in-resort transportation requirements, I think it would not be a great choice for you, at this time.
Let me say that I love all of the other Value and Moderate resorts. But for transportation appeal and ease, these two resorts stand out above the crowd for your family. Write me back if you have any other vacation planning questions!
Have a Magical Vacation!
