I am planning our first trip to WDW for next March '12. My daughter has a lot of food allergies & I was wondering if the fast service dining options at the value & moderate resorts can cater to food allergies as well as the restaurants in the them

Hi Julie! I think Walt Disney World is one of the best places to visit if you have food allergies. Disney works really hard to accommodate guests with allergies, and even has a department that assists guests with special dietary needs. The Quick-Service restaurant locations all stock various food items that are free of nuts, gluten and other allergens, and ingredient lists for the menu items are available upon request. The chefs at the Table-Service restaurants prepare special meals that meet the dietary requirements of guests with allergies, and chefs at the buffet restaurants can show you the dishes on the buffet that meet those dietary requirements.

For more information, click here to visit the Special Diets page on the Disney World website. Since your daughter has multiple food allergies, you should also email SpecialDiets@DisneyWorld.com several weeks before your vacation. That department can help you notify all the restaurants in which you plan to dine of your daughter's allergies and they'll also send you a list of allergy-free items available at the various Quick-Service locations.

Have a magical vacation! If you have more questions, please don't hesitate to visit us again at the Moms Panel!
