Hi there! We are planning our first trip to WDW in Feb. this year and planning to stay at the Beach Club. Just found out pool/slide is going to be refurbished during that time. As that is main attraction at BC, should we change our resort?

The Beach Club resort is one of our family's favorite resorts to stay at. Stormalong Bay is a major draw for many people and we think it is the best resort pool on WDW property. My boys would be heartbroken if they arrived and it was closed, but it is hard to say whether or not you should switch resorts. You did not mention if the pool was the main reason you booked there to begin with. There are many great features of the Beach Club resort even if the pool is off limits.

It  is in an ideal location. You have easy access to the World Showcase at Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios by either walking or taking a boat. It is nestled against Crescent Lake and has a beautiful white sand beach that lines the back of the resort. This is a great  place to grab a swing or recliner and sit and enjoy the view, it is quite romantic. You are within a short walk to the Boardwalk, home to a variety of nightclubs, shops and free nightly entertainment.

There are great dining options within minutes of your room. Cape May Cafe features a character breakfast in the morning and an old fashioned clam bake buffet at night and Yachtsman Steakhouse is home to one of the best steaks on property. The Beach Club resort is also where you can find the very popular Beaches and Cream ice cream parlor. You should stop in an order a kitchen sink. Yum!

The rooms are nicely done and a good size and we enjoy the easy beach feeling to the resort. The other thing you should consider is how much swimming you would be doing in February. The temperature can be cooler at that time and you may find that you would prefer to stay dry anyway. Decide if the pool is what you are really looking for and if the answer is yes, then I would recommend looking into another resort (the Boardwalk might be a good option since it is in that same area), but if the pool is not your main concern then enjoy your stay at the Beach Club.
