We are planning our first trip to WDW April 1 and I was wondering are we able to leave and return to the same park later that day? I also have a 5 and 9 year and would you recommend renting a stroller for them? They're under 40 and the other is under 55 lb

Hi Cheryl!  How exciting that your first trip to WDW is right around the corner!  Thanks for the great question, and the answer is yes.  If you want to leave a park and return to that same park later in the day you can return but make sure you get your arm stamped at the exit gate.  Without a hopper pass option, that is the only way you can get back into that specific park.  So just remember on your way out to get everyone's arm stamped and then you can all come back later that day.
With regards to the stroller, by the time my girls were 9 they definitely did not need a stroller.  At 5 they could make it but would often complain by early evening.  You might try it the first day to see how they do, and if there is a lot fussing about their feet hurting, go ahead and grab that stroller on day 2!  I hope you have a magical first trip to WDW
