we are planning our first trip and are thinking about stayng at the all-star movie resort. We have a 3 year old and an infant, so we will probably be back and forth to the room a lot. Can you tell me if this is a good choice? Is it convienent? Clean?

    Hi Kerri -

You're three year old is sure to have a magical time at Disney World.  Everything is so magical at that age.

One thing I always tell new visitors to Walt Disney World.  It is HUGE!!  So travel between the resorts and parks takes time.  If both of your children still nap, and you are looking to take a fairly nice sized break during the day, then All-Star Movie Resort is a fine choice.  Cleanliness has never been an issue for me at any of the Disney Resorts.  All rooms on property should be clean and inviting.

Like I said before, the travel from the parks to your resort will take some time.  However, it could work well for you since you probably will all return to the resort together.  I recommend taking advantage of extra magic hours in the mornings while you are all fresh and ready to face the day.  Come back to the hotel for nap time (figure in about 45 minutes travel time).  Then choose a park where you would like to spend the evening.

Also, consider taking advantage of the Baby Care Centers in each of the parks.  This is a great place for parents to take care of their infant's needs.  They have changing areas, high chairs for feeding, breast feeding rooms, and a room with toys and videos for your older child.  They are air conditioned and are a great place to get your baby out of the sun for a few minutes.  Check your guide maps for the location in each park.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
