Planning a first trip for next fall - traveling with a 5 year old and 3 year old. Love the Wilderness Lodge but am worried about getting around to the parks? Is it more convenient to stay at a monorail resport?

Hi Melissa! There's definitely no need for you to worry -- the Wilderness Lodge has a wonderful, convenient location! The Wilderness Lodge is not much farther from the Magic Kingdom than the monorail resorts -- it's just a short boat ride away from the park. While staying on the monorail route does allow you to zip to and from the Magic Kingdom, you'd still have to use the Disney buses at those monorail resorts to visit Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, just like you would at the Wilderness Lodge. You can reach any of the Disney parks from the Wilderness Lodge in 15 to 25 minutes using the Disney transportation system, and those travel times don't vary significantly from the monorail resorts.

In addition to having a location close to the Magic Kingdom, the Wilderness Lodge is usually much less expensive than the monorail resorts, and it's convenient to the fun activities at the Fort Wilderness Resort, such as Chip'n'Dale's Campfire Sing-a-long. horseback riding, and the Hoop-Dee-Doo. The theming of the Wilderness Lodge is so cozy, and the wooded setting is a peaceful respite from the bustle of the parks. Your children will love seeing the geyser erupt!
