We are planning our first trip with our kids (girls ages 11 &6) in late April. Trying to decide between the Port Orleans Resorts and Coronado Springs. Any Suggestions? Would like to be someplace with easy access to everything (incl transportation).

Hi Eileen, I've stayed at both Port Orleans Riverside and Coronado Springs Resort and they both have their pros and cons. I'll list my opinions and I hope that will help you make a decision.

CSR: We love the good transport, the quiet pools and the newly renovated rooms as this is a convention centre the pools and buses are often very empty. My negatives though are that the resort is huge, your 6 year old may find it too far to walk if you stay in the Ranchos. I would suggest you request a room near to the main building. There is often an internal shuttle though which does help. My other negative is my family personally does not like the Pepper Market, the food is fine it just seemed that we never got to eat together as the food all took very different times to cook!

POR: We love the boat ride to Downtown Disney, the 6 pools and the great counter service restaurant. My daughters especially like the make your own pasta and salad stations, healthy too!  My main complaint about POR is the buses, maybe we were unlucky but we often had long waits. The resort is pretty central though and once you're on the bus it really doesn't take very long to get to any of the parks.

I've never stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter but I do know that it is a much smaller resort which you may prefer but we've never stayed there as it only has 1 pool and a quiet pool is high on our list of priorities. I hope that helps you in your decision, another good thing to do is visit allears.net and look at the photos and facts about each resort. Have a great trip, Jo
