Hi, we're planning our first trip in Feb 09. Everything gets lumped together in pricing & we're trying to figure out what the actual cost of the dining plan is. Is there an area I'm missing that gives you the breakdown on the cost of the dining plan?

The best explanation of the Dining Plan costs that I've found are on the website allearsnet.com. Go there and click on the "search" button at the top right. Search for an article called "Walt Disney World Packages." About a quarter of the way down the page, you'll see information describing the costs and benefits of the 2009 Dining Plan.

Prices can change, but in a nutshell these are the charges for the Dining Plan:

Quick Service Plan (2QS, 2S): Adults $29.99 per night, Kids $8.99 per night
Basic Plan (1 TS, 1QS, 1S): Adults $39.99 per night, Kids $10.99 per night
Deluxe Plan (3 meals either TS or QS, 2S): Adults $69.99 per night, Kids $19.99 per night

(TS = table service; QS = quick service; S = snack)

The economics of whether the Dining Plan makes sense for you financially are detailed in another article on allearsnet.com. Look for "Doing the Math: 2009 Disney Dining Plans."

Hope this helps you figure out if the Dining Plan is right for you.
