We are planning our first trip to Disney World for April 2010. Could you recommend some resorts that are easy access from resort to theme parks for our 4 year old? I imagaine I'll need to take her back to the room for rests during our stay.

    Hi Kate,

How fun to be planning a Disney vacation for your little princess!

There are a number of fantastic Disney World resorts that are located with very easy access to Disney parks. If you are looking to stay near Magic Kingdom, you may want to select one of the monorail resorts, The Polynesian, The Contemporary and the Grand Floridian. The Contemporary resort is our favorite as my boys love the cool hotel design with the monorail zipping through. Chef Mickey's is found here and this resort has my favorite gift shop. You will be able to take the monorail from here, or the Magic Kingdom is just a short walk from the front entrance of the resort.

Another Magic Kingdom resort, often with a slightly less price tag, is the Wilderness Lodge. Magic Kingdom is just a short boat ride away from this resort tucked away into the trees and pines. The resort has a cool Northern woods feel and the boys love hanging out in the large towering lobby.

Our favorite resort choices though are the ones located near Epcot resort. The Beach Club, Yacht Club and Boardwalk resort are all located adjacent to Epcot's World Showcase entrance. The resorts surround a small lake and are easily accessible by boat or foot to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The area is full of unique shops, restaurants and clubs. In the evenings there are movies on the beach at the beach Club and free entertainment (jugglers. comedians. magicians) at the Boardwalk. The beach/Yacht Club share the best resort pool on Disney property, Stormalong Bay. This massive white sand bottom pool is like a water playground itself. We love the convenience and location to not one, but two parks, and in the evening you can't beat all there is to do right outside your resort.

Hope these suggestions help. Good luck with your decision.
