    We are planning our first trip to Disney with our sons, ages 2 and 3 and are considering the All Star Movies Resort. Is it nice? Is it convenient to travel to and from Magic Kingdom or is it worth spending the extra money to be closer to Magic Kingdom?

    Hi Michelle,

    I love the All Star Movies! They are a great value for your money and they are themed wonderfully! They are about 20 minutes to the Magic Kingdom which may not seem long unless you have two tired toddlers and a stroller to transport back to the resort.

    If you are primarily touring Magic Kingdom, I recommend you stay closer. You can offset the cost of the more expensive room by staying one less day, purchasing only a Magic Your Way base ticket or traveling in the off season. You can also look for special such as room discounts or free dining at Walt Disney World's website, Mousesavers.com or AllEarsNet.com.

    When your children are older, then you can stay further away. This is what my family did to make it easier to tour with younger children. Once the stroller was not our traveling companion, we could expand the resorts we would stay at.
