We are planning our first trip to Disney in October. Do you recommend a dining plan? If so, which one? Our daughters are 11 and 12.

    Hi Tina,

Thanks for dropping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question! One of my favorite topics to discuss is food and especially all of the delicious food options available throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts. I plan so much of our Disney vacation around dining at our favorite restaurants, indulging in our favorite snacks, and trying new and exciting menu items. Because of this, the Dining Plan has been such a valuable option for my family when planning our trips. I love that I can budget for most of our dining expenses ahead of time. My children, as will your children, order off of the adult menu, since they are over 9 years of age. Giving them the freedom to choose any menu item covered by the Dining Plan gives our vacation that extra sprinkle of pixie-dust.

While I highly recommend the use of a Dining Plan, choosing which Dining Plan is best for your family is a personal choice, one that is based upon the way your family plans to dine while on vacation. My family loves Table Service meals, like some of the great Character Dining options, though we also like to have the ability to have a quick meal as well. The Disney Dining Plan works best for us, because it has 1 Table-Service Meal, 1 Quick-Service Meal, and 2 Snacks per person for every night of the package stay. The Quick Service Dining Plan might better suit a family that wants quick and casual dining options, without the need to make reservations. The Quick Service Dining Plan offers 2 Quick-Service Meals and 2 Snacks per person for every night of the package stay. For guests who want their Walt Disney World vacation to be a culinary experience, the Deluxe Disney Dining Plan may be the perfect option, as it includes 3 meals and 2 snacks per person for every night of the package stay. Whichever Dining Plan you choose, know that you are in for some incredible meals in Walt Disney World!

Please drop back by the Disney Parks Moms Panel if we can help answer any more of your questions!
