    Hi, I am planning our first trip to Disney. Family of 4 with 2 boys ages 9 and 6. We usually take annual trips to National Parks, but don't want to miss the magic this year. We are considering the WIlderness Lodge-thoughts on long bus waits and proximity?

    Its great to hear from a fellow South Carolinian! And I'm excited to recommend the Wilderness Lodge to you, since its my absolute favorite resort anywhere!

    The Wilderness Lodge is truly a spectacular sight. Its vaulted lobby is breathtaking and complete with massive totem poles and a gas fireplace (each layer represents a layer of the Grand Canyon - be sure to check that out!). There are tributes to the National Parks and Native American culture throughout the lodge - if you can fit it in, a tour by the Ranger is a must! Be sure to tell him I sent you - we chatted all about the lodge when I visited last month!

    As for the location of the lodge - Its fabulous! Personally, I LOVE the quick boat access to the Magic Kingdom. We rarely wait very long for the ferry, and its such fun waiting on the docks enjoying the scenery! Bus service transports visitors to Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. The rides on the bus aren't very long, and the bus stops are located very centrally to the lodge.

    Be sure to ask for a calendar of events when you check into the lodge. It'll provide you with specifics on things like the lodge tour, movies on the beach and the times of the Electrical Water Pageant!
