We are planning our first trip to Disney for Aug 14-17. We will be in FL visiting my Mom the week before & this is kind of a last minute addition. We are debating between Beach Club Resort & Wilderness Lodge. Any suggestions with 4, 3 & 4 mon

Hi Alicia! How exciting to be planning your family's first trip to Disney in only a few weeks! Both the Wilderness Lodge and the Beach Club are fantastic resorts, and you can't go wrong with either of them. The Wilderness Lodge has a prime location just a short boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom and near the fun activities of the Fort Wilderness Resort and the great restaurants at the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian. The Wilderness Lodge has a unique Great West theme and rooms there are generally less expensive than the Beach Club, which is always a plus for me. The Beach Club has larger rooms than the Wilderness Lodge and the theming is bright and cheery, which I prefer over the darker rooms of the Wilderness Lodge. The Beach Club is very conveniently located near Epcot and Hollywood Studios, and it has the largest resort pool at Disney with a massive slide.

My family loves the Beach Club -- my tweens adore the pool and we spend lots of time at Epcot and Hollywood Studios so the location is great. However, I think the Wilderness Lodge would be a better fit for your family on this trip. Since you're staying only a few days, it's your first visit, and you have young children, I expect you'll spend more of your time at the Magic Kingdom, and the Wilderness Lodge is very convenient to that park. Also, the pool at the Wilderness Lodge is, in my opinion, more manageable for young children. At the Beach Club, the entrance to the big Stormalong Bay slide is located quite a long way from the exit of the slide. You wouldn't want to send your small children alone to get in line for Stormalong Bay, but you wouldn't have time to walk from the entrance to exit of the slide before they came down. Since you also have an infant, I think you'd appreciate the smaller slide at the Wilderness Lodge, which is more manageable for the little ones.
