We are planning our first trip December 14-18, 2015 to visit Magic Kingdom for just 1 day. I am wondering if it is better to get a ticket for the park or get the ticket for the Christmas event. It will just be me, my husband and our 3 year old son.

    Hi there Kelly!

How exciting to be planning your first trip to Walt Disney World!  December is my favorite time of the year to visit as all of the parks and resorts are beautifully decorated for the Christmas season. Although I do love Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, I would recommend purchasing a 1-Day ticket to Magic Kingdom Park instead.

When our twin boys were four-years-old, we attended Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.  Although they seemed to enjoy the party, they were sound asleep in their stroller by 10:00 p.m. Because the party officially begins at 7:00 p.m. and ends at 12:00 a.m., I think your son will be able to experience much more earlier in the day. I would also suggest visiting Magic Kingdom Park on a day that the party is not being offered, so that you can stay in the park longer in order to experience Wishes nighttime spectacular.

I hope this information is helpful in making the best decision for your family. Please don't hesitate to stop by again with any additional questions that you may have. Best wishes for a magical first trip, Kelly!

    Happy Planning!
