Hello, we are planning a first time vacation to Disney World, for 4 adults, and 1 kid (9 yo), for the 4th of July weekend, arriving on July first, leaving July 4th. Recommendations as well as suggestions for a budget plan?

    Hi Juan! Welcome to planDisney.

Oh Boy! There is no better way to ring in Independence Weekend than a road trip to The World's Most Magical Celebration. As a Florida Resident, make sure to take advantage of specially priced Theme Park Tickets and Special Offers. When purchasing online, you can verify your Sunshine State residency which will save you time when you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort. I would like to remind you, that a valid Theme Park Ticket and Disney Park Pass Reservation are required to visit the theme parks. Here is the availability calendar to verify your theme park choices have openings.

Reading your question, I am not sure if you have secured hotel accommodations. If you have not done so and would like to stay in a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, time is of the essence. I did a mock reservation inquiry and the only "budget-friendly" option for five people at the time I am typing this is Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. Alternatively, you could do a search for one of the Walt Disney World Good Neighbor® Hotels which offer great family stays with some Walt Disney World Resort Benefits like Early Theme Park Entry

While a visit to the house of the mouse can be rather costly, there are some easy budget tips and tricks. First, meal portions are huge, my husband and I more often than not split an entree. Eat breakfast offsite or pack protein bars to fuel up in the morning. Also, you are allowed to bring a cooler with your own snacks and drinks. Please remember to use cooler packs as loose ice and dry ice are not permitted. Refer here for the rules on size and items permitted inside of the theme parks. Stay hydrated in the Florida heat with complimentary ice water from quick-serve locations or fill your water bottle from refillable stations. My pal, Anne Marie spells out all the locations you can find those water refill stations. My favorite fun budget tip is to visit Disney Springs. There is no entry fee and parking is free. You can enjoy complimentary entertainment, unique shopping, and award-winning dining. Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza and Earl of Sandwich® are two delicious budget-friendly eateries.

    Keeping it Magical,
    Cindy
