We're planning our first family vacation to WDW for February 2010. Which days do you recommend? Also, we will only visit MK and AK. How many days should we spend? Our 2-yr DD isn't a great sleeper away from the house, but we don't want to miss a thing.

    Lisa,

You have chosen a great time of year to visit! The weather is usually warm but not too hot and the crowds are usually fairly light, as long as you steer clear of Presidents' weekend.

If you can I would aim for 3 days (or more) to enjoy those 2 parks, and I'd devote the first day to the Magic Kingdom, the second to Animal Kingdom (which incidentally is my favorite Disney park) and then return to the MK on day 3.  I would also try to visit during the week, as weekdays the parks are typically less crowded than on weekends.

The Magic Kingdom will definitely have the most attractions that your little girl can enjoy, and it is the larger of the two parks (as far as the number of attractions) as well.  Even for a seasoned WDW visitor it is too large to tackle in just one day.  Your little girl will probably decide that Fantasyland is her favorite area of the park, so plan on spending a lot of time there.

The Animal Kingdom is also quite large, but most of the major rides and attractions can be squeezed into one (long) day.  Of particular interest to your daughter would be Kilimanjaro Safari and The Boneyard playground. I have 3 girls myself and they also love the Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo the Musical shows.  Animal Kingdom is also home to our very favorite parade in all of Disney, Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade. I'd definitely recommend snagging a good spot to enjoy this in the afternoon.

    Happy planning!
