I am planning our first ever trip to disney world. Can anyone tell me where to start

I'm so excited for your first trip. To get started, I have two words for you: budget and information.

As a first step, work on your budget for your trip, as this will help guide all the choices you make for your vacation. For example, if the sky's the limit, then you will focus your planning on the deluxe resorts; if you're trying to economize, then you'll spend more time looking at the value resorts.

Next, I would gather as much information as you can about WDW. I recommend that you purchase or check out from the library three books. (These are all available at major bookstores and on Amazon.com):

    - The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World (like the Moms Panel, will give you the "real scoop")
    - PassPorter's Walt Disney World (the best maps and planning charts)
    - Birnbaum's Walt Disney World (the official party line)

You should also check out the very comprehensive website allearsnet.com that has ratings and reviews of just about every restaurant, hotel, and attraction at WDW.

Once you have all this information, and some budgetary parameters, you can start to chart out:

    - When is the best time to go?
    - How will we get there?
    - Where will we stay?
    - How long will we stay?
    - Which theme parks will we visit?
    - Where will we eat?
    - What attractions do we want to see?

Once you have a rough plan, be sure to come back to the Moms Panel and ask us any specific questions you might have.
