    We are planning our first DW trip December 8 - 12, 2012 with our kids ages 6 & 8. What can we expect in terms of crowds, lines and weather? Also my kids are little fish so are swimming and water parks options or is it too cold?

    Hi Ronda!  Congratulations on planning your first trip to Walt Disney World!  I had the fortune to be able to travel down to WDW during that exact time frame last year, and I can say that it is definitely a great time to go.  The crowd levels are pretty low, with exception of the nights when Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is being held (separate ticket required).  The weather for that particular week in December last year was fairly nice, with highs in the mid 70's during the day, and an evening average of 55-60.  However, in 2010 there was a bit of a cold snap, resulting in temperatures in the 40's, so I would definitely keep an eye on the weather once your trip gets closer. 

    With respect to the water parks, yes, one or both of the water parks will be open during your stay.  They do alternatively closed during the winter months, but the schedule for December 2012 has not been posted yet.  The great news is that the water slides and pools are heated during the winter months, so I would absolutely consider taking the kids to enjoy the great Disney water parks!
