We are planning our first disney vacation and are going SEPT 20-26, 2009. Is this a good time? We're staying at All-Star Movies so should we go to the parks during Extra-Magic Hours? Some websites say to avoid since those parks are the busiest then.

    Caren,

I think you will be pleased with the time of year that you chose to visit Walt Disney World for your first vacation. The weather is great and the crowds are very manageable. Not too light, but not too crowded. So no, it is not a good time, it is a GREAT time!

The crowds are small enough that you should ignore those sites and definitely take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours. You get more time in that park, and therefore can get more done in your day! It also makes going back to the All-Star Movies resort for a pool or nap break easier to do, since you have gotten an earlier start to your day.
