We’re planning on a few ADRs for our kids for the first time. Any tips on how to reveal the surprise for maximum anticipation? We’re doing Garden Grill, Tiffins, and Be Our Guest.

    Hi Kathrine!

Oh, I do love a good surprise! It seems everyone is all about the big reveal these days, and I’d love to try to make it more fun for you and your family.

At Garden Grill, you’ll get to meet some very special friends, Chip & Dale! While you enjoy your meal, the entire restaurant will be rotating and you’ll get to view the different biomes of the Living with the Land attraction below. What about gifting a new autograph book for this meal, maybe with a fun poem inscribed on the first page to deliver the news? You can write your own, or you can use mine:

    It’s time to eat,
    but where shall we dine?
    A rainforest or desert?
Even a farm would be fine.
    Why don’t we spin
    instead of being still?
Let’s have dinner with Chip & Dale
    at the GARDEN GRILL!

I don’t have a clever poem for Tiffins Restaurant, but the theme there is all about exploration and discovery. What if you design an explorer’s map, leading them to the restaurant? Using craft paper, you could hand-draw a basic, treasure type map of Animal Kingdom. Search Pinterest to find some neat ways to make the paper look weathered and old. When it’s time for dinner, let the kids find their way there!

    Be our Guest Restaurant
is one of my favorites! What about a royal proclamation? Again, you could use some fancy craft paper, type out a message and roll it up with a pretty ribbon to present just before dinner. You could write your own message, or use mine and have the kids guess the location!

“It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we welcome you tonight.
And now we invite you to relax, let us pull up a chair,
as the dining room proudly presents - your dinner!”

I hope one of these ideas sounds like something your kid will enjoy. I like your idea of surprising the dinner locations so much, I may do something similar on our next visit!

    Happy planning!
