I am planning my family's very first WDW vacation for October 2012! I am curious as to how thick the crowd is the first week of October, typically. Also, are the Halloween festivities already taking place the first week of the month?

    Hi Kirstin!

The first week of October is a great time to visit Walt Disney World! Typically, the hot Florida summer weather has tempered just a bit, leaving you with warm days and comfortable evenings. Crowds are typically pretty low, especially during the week.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Parties have begun and the Magic Kingdom is decorated in its pumpkin-best! Over at Epcot, the International Food & Wine Festival has kicked off the first weekend in October too! YUM!

Hope you enjoy your October trip!!
