I am planning our family's first trip to Disney in September and we will be staying at a location off Disney property. Do I need to purchase tickets to the park prior to making reservations for a character meal? Thank you!

    Hi Kristina,

There is no requirement that you purchase park tickets before making meal reservations. Go ahead and make your dining reservations whenever you're ready, as long as your trip is 180 days or less.

You will need to use park admission to get to the character meals located within the parks, but if you're eating at a character meal at a resort (Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary, for example) then you won't need a park admission to dine.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We're happy to help.
