I am planning a family vacation to WDW in 2023 for 17 or 18 people. I would appreciate any tips!

Hiya, Taryn! I'm so glad you found the trail of pixie dust Tinker Bell left for you and followed it back here to planDisney!

I'm thrilled to hear that you're planning a family vacation to Walt Disney World Resort next year! Here's a little secret: magic multiplies when it's shared with people you care about, and your trip is sure to be an extra special one. I would love to give you some tips to get started! Let me just grab my magic wand...

Got it! As my friend Peter Pan says, "Here we gooo!"

    • First, it will be helpful for everyone in your travel party to make a My Disney Experience account. Then, you can connect with each other through your Family & Friends List. This will help when making plans and reservations!
    • Decide on where you'd like to stay and for which dates. Once vacation packages for 2023 open up, you can book your vacation package for your Disney Resorts Collection hotel and theme park tickets. If any Special Offers pop up closer to your arrival date, you'll have an opportunity to apply this to your existing reservation. Also, take a look at all the benefits of staying at a Disney Resort hotel!
    • Once you book your vacation and have purchased tickets, make sure to secure your Theme Park Reservations using the Disney Park Pass system. This is an important step to make sure you're able to visit your desired parks on each day of your trip!
    • Plan to do some activities together and some activities apart. You may have a Jedi in your group that would like to build a droid at Droid Depot, a little princess who wants to see Cinderella Castle, or a grandparent who would prefer to swim at their resort. And all of those options are great! Giving everyone a chance to have some experiences that are personalized to them will make your trip all the more magical. For my family, we like to make sure that we come together for a meal at the end of the day where everyone is together and can share stories!
    • You will be able to make your advance dining reservations 60 days prior to your trip. If you're staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you can make your advance dining reservations 60 days prior to your trip, for the length of your entire trip (up to 10 days). You may want to consider having a few people designated as "leaders" for their particular groups and have them in charge of making dining reservations for their group of people. If you'd like to dine together, you could have a few dining reservations at the same restaurant and at similar times, for example!
    • While you're waiting for your magical vacation and the excitement is building, keep your eyes on the Disney Parks Blog and follow the planDisney Instagram page! These resources will help to keep you up-to-date on any and all exciting updates.
I hope I was able to get you started in the right direction, Taryn! Please visit us again with any other questions.

You've got a friend in me!
