    I am planning a family vacation for Jan 9-12, 2009. That is the same weekend as the marathon. We will need about 8 rooms at the All Stars. Will we have any problems in the parks that weekend? What time does the race take place?

    Hey Jennifer, although I have not actually been during the marathon, my brother and his family go every year.  They are always extremely pleased with the crowd level and wait little to no time for most attractions.  The race begins very early in the day and is for the most part finished around or after lunch time.  They claim it is one of the very best times of the year to go.
    Their one and only complaint is that for the last two years Splash Mountain has been closed for refurbishment during this time.
