Hi Raylene! Welcome to planDisney! As a
Magic Key holder, I know how important it is to plan ahead, especially when you're coordinating a family trip. I’m really glad you reached out, and I’m here to help.
Unfortunately,
Magic Key park reservations cannot be made beyond the current expiration date of the pass. Once the Magic Keys have been
renewed (which, as you know, can be done as early as 30 days before expiration), the Key holder can then begin making new reservations. I recommend setting a reminder for your renewal window so you can jump right in and secure your dates, especially during the
holidays when reservations fill up quickly.
Raylene, the Disneyland Resort truly shines during the holiday season, offering countless ways to make magical memories. At Disneyland Park, Sleeping Beauty Castle becomes even more enchanting at night, sparkling with thousands of twinkling lights during the Wintertime Enchantment moment. Over in Fantasyland, the façade of “it’s a small world” Holiday glows brilliantly with festive colors, while inside, the children of the world share their unique and heartwarming seasonal traditions. It's one of my favorite sights in the park!
Another classic gets a ghostly holiday twist when Jack Skellington takes over the Haunted Mansion, transforming it into Haunted Mansion Holiday. The mix of HalloweenTown and Christmas cheer makes it a can’t-miss attraction.
Across the esplanade, Disney California Adventure Park celebrates with the Festival of the Holidays, spotlighting winter traditions from cultures around the world. Buena Vista Street glows with vintage charm, while Cars Land decks the streets with its over-the-top “haul-iday” décor. Don’t miss the festive overlays on Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree and Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters! And of course, the Festive Foods Marketplace is a must for tasting holiday treats from a wide variety of cuisines.
We haven’t even gotten to meeting Mickey and his pals in their cozy holiday outfits, or paying a visit to Santa, who spreads cheer in both parks! Here’s a Q-Tip to help plan your magical winter visit: spend at least one evening on Main Street, U.S.A. to catch A Christmas Fantasy Parade, enjoy the snowfall, and watch the “Believe… in Holiday Magic” fireworks show. It’s pure Disney holiday magic.
Raylene, I’m thrilled your family will be visiting during such a joyous time of year! Keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog as November approaches for updates and announcements. And of course, stop by and see us again at planDisney if you have more questions.
Happy (early) Holidays!
David
